The upward trend in
energy prices and climatic
catastrophies are there
to remind us that our current development model is not sustainable.
In order to live in our century requires the know-how to invent a model
of civilisation that focuses on reducing both emissions and the use of
fossil energy resources and can easily be replicable in the rest of the
world.
This sets a bold challenge that calls upon all citizens, businesses,
community organisations and public authorities to be creative and
innovative. Each of these players has a role to play,
regardless of
their position in the city.
How can we build “sustainable energy communities”
within our
municipalities ? How can we set up “local intelligent
energy forums” so
we can work together more effectively? How can we make local
initiatives more visible whilst encouraging their replication at local
level?
We offer you the opportunity to discuss these issues together with your
local partners at the 11th Annual Conference of Energie-Cités, which
will focus on the exchanges of experience and innovation.
