BYPAD: Quality standard for cycling policy in european cities and regions

BYPAD (Bicycle policy audit) is an instrument for the evaluation of local and regional cycling policy and improvement of its quality. BYPAD has been developed, applied and continuously improved since 1999, with support from the European Commission. Meanwhile more than 100 cities and regions in 20 European countries are evaluating and improving their cycling policy, supervised by 34 certified auditors from these countries.

This conference gives an opportunity not only to show the result achieved by the City of Rome in drawing up a plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but also to create further awareness of other European Union administration GHG reduction policies and to come to a common strategy to tackle climate change at the local level.
